Tignes Les Brévières

Tignes Les Brévières is a charming alpine village nestled high in the French Alps. The resort of Tignes is made up of five villages that form part of the superb L'Espace Killy Ski area. Located just below the tree line at an altitude of 1550 metres, Les Brévières is well linked with all the other resorts, including neighbouring Val D'Isère, by the fast modern lift network of the world class L'Espace Killy.

Les Brévières is a traditional ski resort with a friendly relaxed atmosphere. The village has cafes, bars and restaurants that cater for all tastes. For live music, go to La Bouida on a Tuesday, at the foot of the slopes. For live football and rugby or for a game of pool, head to Bar Le Geant or Vincents. If you want to party on, the British run Underground Bar is the place for you. Les Brévières has seven restaurants, all serving local specialities such as raclette and fondue, or classic favourites such as pizza or steak. In the heart of the village you'll find cafes, bars, restaurants, a supermarket, bakery, newsagents, post office, cash machine, tourist office, ski school, ski shops and a weekly market of traditional produce.



Tignes Le Lac

Tignes Le Lac, at an altitude of 2100 metres, along with Tignes Val Claret, are the highest villages in the world class Espace Killy. This modern resort is superbly positioned in the heart of the ski area.  The fast lift network links Tignes Le Lac with all the other villages of L'Espace Killy, including neighbouring Val D'Isere. From the doorstep of Chalet Grande Tourne, a short ski lift takes you to a choice of blue slopes, linking with either Tignes Le Lac or, via the Merles chailift, Tignes Val Claret. At the end of your day, you can ski across from the blue ‘Anemone’ slope to your front door. If you're looking for lively après ski and nightlife, Chalet Grande Tourne is the place for you as the resort has a good choice of bars and nightclubs. For those of you wanting relaxation, a 2 minute stroll takes you to a modern leisure complex with 2 pools, a gym and the 'Wellness Centre' with saunas, jacuzzis and a steam room.

L'Espace Killy Ski Area

The Tignes and Val D'Isère ski area is known as L'Espace Killy and provides exceptional terrain for all standards of skier and snowboarder. Due to its high altitude, the region has a superb snow record, its season beginning in November and lasting until May. The Grande Motte Glacier gives Tignes the status of a snow sure resort.
 
Beginners ****
There is a free lift for beginners on the nursery slopes. Once the basics have been mastered, Tignes has plenty of wide and gentle confidence-building slopes ideal for improving your new skills. This network of easy slopes quickly allows beginners to explore L'Espace Killy.
 
Intermediates *****
Intermediates are spoilt for choice by the immaculately groomed pistes of L'Espace Killy. The number and variety of runs on offer, from wide cruising blues to the more challenging reds, make this area an intermediate's paradise. Stretch your legs on the huge expanse of terrain available, which offers plenty of opportunity for adventure.

Advanced *****
L'Espace Killy has an unrivalled range of terrain for advanced skiers. La Sache, at 10km, is the area's longest run, an exhilarating black that descends from 'the eye of the needle' through a spectacular valley to Tignes Les Brévières. Test your skill on the awesome "Face", the steep mogul field from Rocher de Bellevarde down to Val D'Isère. In addition to the marked runs, you have access to some of the most extensive off piste skiing in the world.
 
Snowboarding *****
Without doubt L'Espace Killy is one of the best playgrounds for snowboarding anywhere in Europe. The freeriding is simply superb both on and off piste. There are two well maintained snowboard parks with an impressive range of kickers and rails to suit all abilities of freestyle rider.
